Midterm

The following paper and presented collage is in response to my inquiry research question: Are there more intrinsic benefits with formal art education than informal art making? This inquiry stemmed from my own internal dialogue about both formal and informal education. For the research process I began searching out different articles, journals, case studies, and books to understand perspectives on both sides of this topic. As someone who learned, studied and taught utilizing Discipline Based Art Education (DBAE) curriculum, this was naturally where I started researching. Since art education has evolved so much and there are many different theories, it is worth mentioning that I am in no way implying this research paper or collage will hit every aspect. I will analyze theories, case studies, and artists that reflect some of the more prominent practices of art education and informal art making.
